I'm starting off 2025 with something I've been considering for ages...this Website!

It's 2025, but the first inklings of this website started back in 2023...

2023 was a big art year for me. Starting in January, I completed a 100-day challenge that stretched my stick-to-it-iveness to the max. In the past, I have begun art challenges, and this was the first I have ever finished! It showed me that I *can* build a daily art practice and follow through...even when it meant painting while camping with our son or when COVID knocked our little family on our rear-ends. I learned how to adapt.

Through my daily posting of the Apple A Day (what I painted for the 100-day challenge), I learned that I had quite a few people who were interested in what I was doing. They wanted to follow along and asked for additional information. This blog and website will hopefully offer those interested an insight into what and how I create along with some of the struggles encountered along the way...and it won't require a sign up to additional social media accounts.

In early November of 2023, I hosted my first ever Art Open House in my home. Not everyone was able to attend, either due to conflict in schedule or proximity. This website will provide an opportunity for direct purchase of original products and potentially some prints and cards, maybe stickers (I'm still exploring the appropriate supplies to provide the finished product I am pleased with.) no matter where you live or what your schedule looks like.

So, if you've read this far you might be wondering why the gap from 2023 to 2025? I had initially planned on launching in January of 2024...but life hit. My mom was experiencing some health issues and came to stay with us at the end of 2023. What was supposed to be a couple weeks to a month stay stretched to 6 months. It wore me out in ways I can't quite put into words. It would be another 6 months from her leaving before I felt like picking up brushes again...and another month or so after that before I actually did.

Now here we are in January 2025. Trying to find ways to connect and share.

These are my brief thoughts and a really high-level view of where I am hoping to guide this ship in 2025.
